Camel

My first camel painted from the photo.  I also painted it on the postcard for sale at  the Wadi Adventure for charity.  It is very generous of Wadi Adventure to let us use their spaces to set up our first gallery in town.  We very much appreciated it.

At the Palace Musium

I painted these from photos that I took on our last trip to the Palace museum.

Arabian antique at the historical place

I went to Sheik  Zayed Palace Museum for sketching together with the group of Al Ain Watercolour Club.

The place is beautiful, nicely landscape arrangement and many Arabian antique items are displayed.  

I took some photos and shall painting it later on.

We'll go back again next week.

Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum

This is our drawing assignment last Wednesday, Al Ain Watercolor club meeting at Wadi Adventure.  I thought it would be too hard for me, but after all it was not as hard as it looked.  My painting looks bit older than the original photo.  Everyone else did it well.

Enjoying the sun

One stroke pen drawing and paint home work.  It is supposed to be a post card but I forgot about the words.  I enjoyed very much a lesson last Wednesday.  It was about  wave on the beach.  I need to do more practice on ocean wave that I did not do well in the class.

Hubby and I gave a farewell treat to our two friends who arrived in the UAE at the same time as us.  They are going back to UK after 10 years and we still here.  Trader Vic's on Thursday night was very busy, luckily that we booked the seats otherwise we end up out side by the pool which still very hot by 7 pm.  We had a good time chatting and shouting to each other when the band was started to play.

I woke up at about 2:30 a..m and couldn't go back to sleep.  We ate very late and that upset my stomach.  I jumped up and down and ended up slept on the couch in the living room.  Got up tired couldn't make it to ice skating practice as planned.

This is my third painting to get it right.  First one was bit small, second one was messy !!!

Little Benjamin

Benjamin is 4 and half years old.   He is sweet little boy and I have known him since he was born.  He is going back to UK with his Dad and Mom in the next few weeks.  I'm going to miss him very much  :-(

Charcoal

I've got a set of new drawing pencil and other materials last week.  Here is my first try. 

 I have little problem with my own atitude these days.  I've been studying how to paint a lot and I saw many beautiful works from several artists.  It made me confused to paint and to post it in to the blog. I thought that it's not good enough.

Now I'm good !!!

On my half-closed eyes...

I didn't get the balance tones right in this painting.  The bottom right background and the top right  are a bit too dark.  The left side of the painting is just fine.

I'll try again on 300 gm. paper.

The road to Dubai

Charcoal drawing wasn't hard as it looks.  The road to Dubai was the first piece; it wasn't too bad.  But the second piece was tough, a portrait from the photo.  It didn't look as it was shown at the first place.  It was corrected by the instructor.  She showed me how to draw and shadow which was very helpful.  Thanks to Ms. M. 

Last winter in Al Ain

The weather is so hot these days, it is about 41 C degrees today.  It made me think about the last winter in Paradise Park in Al Ain.  It was so beautiful and full of flowers.  I took some photos and painted it just to remind me that there will be winter to come. 

Study painting

We were busy painting at the AWCC meeting last Wednesday morning.  We have to paint 4 paintings in two hours!!  Some of us finished on time but I didn't.  I finished the last painting at the end of the day.  My first painting for the day was selected to be sent to The Source magazine on behalf of our group to publish on their art page. 

The paintings were the study painting from "William Newton" book. 

First water fall

I painted in 300 g post card size and finished in 15 min!!!  I was so afaid of painting rocks and wondered how to paint a water fall.  It is not so hard as it looks.  I'm now ready for painting the desert rock with the group today.

Left over pears

I tried this on 200 g paper.  First, the yellow pear wash was not standing.  I wondered why?  Hubby suggested that it needed to be darker shadow on the bottom.  I tried it and diluted the higher left to the lighter color.  Here they are.

But.. the purple pear is falling too !!

How to fix it ??  Help !!

AAWCC 18.4.12

Six members were together this week.  We painted a simple color touch of the leaves and a  Soft Focus Technique on damp paper - a lesson from Elizabeth Fluehr YouTube.

It was a very interesting technique and every one did it very good.

It was my turn to be an organiser and a producer this week.

Every one enjoyed it and was excited through out the session, I guess !!

Me..?*#*  I was relieved.. that.. things went well.

Just pick up some fall leaves and try it on 200 g paper.

Happy New Year every one!! 

Every body is having a very happy day back home celebrating.  Young people are taking long holiday visiting their family.  The older generation gives blessing to the younger.  Every one get wet with perfumed water and flowers.

Emm... cool and feel fresh...sooooo goooood.  Miss it.
